The #22 Briar Cliff men's basketball team went cold in the second of Friday's game against Doane and fell 41-63 in Crete, Nebraska. The Chargers drop to 19-10 and 15-5 in conference play.

"Disappointing loss on the road tonight," said head coach
Mark Svagera. "We got away from who are and what makes us good, and we'll need to get back to that as we move into the post season."

The Chargers knocked down their first four attempts from the 3-point line, taking their largest lead of the game, 20-11 seven minutes in. Doane answered with a 12-2 run over the next eight mintues as they grabbed their first lead of the night, 23-22 with 4:08 left in the half. Five straight points from the Chargers, capped off by a
Quinten Vasa 3-pointer at the buzzer, gave BC a 27-23 lead at half.

Doane opened the second half with an 11-1 run, forcing a BC timeout with 17:08 left. After two 3-pointers from Vasa, the Chargers cut the deficit to four, 38-34. The Tigers over the next three minutes extending their lead to 4-34 with a 10-0 run. Doane held a double-digit lead the rest of the way. BC scored just 14 points in the second half on 5-for-25 shooting, compared to Doane's 40 on 15-of-25 shooting.Â

Vasa had a team high 12 points with four 3-pointers and six rebounds, while
Quinn Vesey had seven points.

Anthony Laravie scored a game high 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Josiah Gardiner added 16 points, while Alec Oberhauser grabbed 18 rebounds.

The Chargers have already secured a share of the GPAC Regular Season Championship and will become outright champions with a Concordia loss at Dakota Wesleyan tomorrow night.
