Konnor Sudmann poured in 26 points in the Briar Cliff women's basketball team's 81-49 win over Bellevue Saturday. The Chargers improve to 2-1 after back-to-back wins at the Cattle Classic in Seward, Nebraska.

Sudmann was 10-for-18 from the field with five 3-pointers, and nearly had a double-double with nine assists. She also grabbed four rebounds and had three steals.

The Chargers built up a 21-11 lead after 10 minutes of play, as Sudmann and
Madelyn Deitchler combined for 17 on 7-for-10 shooting. The BC defense held the Bruins to 4-for-17 shooting, and gave up just one offensive rebound. Peyton Wingert and
Payton Slaughter were active on the boards as they both recorded four defensive rebounds.

Seven Chargers scored in the second quarter as they extended their lead to 42-22 at the halftime break. The Chargers took their largest lead of the half, 42-18 following a Sudmann's fourth 3-pointer of the half.

Briar Cliff had five steals in the first 20 minutes, 16 points off turnovers and dominated in the paint with 26 points.

The Chargers were in cruise control in the second half, shooting 55.6% in the third and 50.0% in the fourth quarters. BC took their largest lead of the night, 81-49 after a Madison Hough layup with 28 seconds remaining.

BC dished out 21 assists to 11 turnovers, while forcing 13 Bruin turnovers with nine steals. The Chargers held the edge in points off turnovers 16-10, second chance points 14-8, bench points 21-17 and points in the paint 48-28.

Deitchler had 15 points, seven rebounds and went 7-for-9 from the field. Slaughter had a game high 11 rebounds to go with two assists and two steals. Wingert added nine points and seven boards.

The Chargers will face Presentation Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Newman Flanagan Center.
