The Charger men's golf team traveled to Salina, Kansas Monday to compete in the Carmichael Cup hosted by Bethany College. The Blue and Golf are in fourth place after 36 holes with a team score of 591 (294, 297).
"The team started on the courses hardest holes and couldn't get any good momentum going forward," said assistant coach
Erik Ingenluijff. "Wind picked up the second round, and we failed to score on the par fives. We look forward to improving tomorrow and moving up the leaderboard."
Shaunak Rama was the low man for the Cliff today with his score of 141 (70, 71). Rama sits in third place heading into tomorrow's final round. He recorded four birdies in his first round and added three more in his second 18.
Gregorio Fernandez turned in a 149 in his two rounds, improving by three strokes in round two. Fernandez is tied for 25th and had three birdies.
Andrew Arndorfer finished the day with a score of 150 (72, 78) and is in 29th. He tallied six birdies in his 36 holes.
Mason Collins carded a 151 (76, 75), with four birdies and is tied for 30th.
Davess Verdugo was the fifth member of the Charger squad with a score of 157 (77, 80).

Braxton Brockhaus and
Gunnar Bussinger are competing individually at the tournament. Landin is tied for 13th with a score of 145 (70, 75) and tallied one birdie and one eagle. Brockhaus turned in a 152 (77, 75) and recorded a hole in one on the 15th hole. Bussinger fired a 153 (78, 75) and had one birdie.
The Charger men will be back in action Tuesday in Salina for the final 18 holes of the Carmichael Cup.
