Marcus Horwood found himself in the right place at the right time Saturday and made the most of his moment. The senior forward for the Charger men's soccer team picked up a deflection inside the 18-yard box and buried a shot to give the Cliff a 1-0 victory in double overtime at Friends.

Horwood's goal was the first of his senior campaign and moved the Chargers to a 1-1 start to the season.

Four Chargers managed four shots in the contest, including Horwood.
Luis Paulo Sartor and
Bernardo Torres had one shot on goal apiece.

The sides were scoreless after 90 minutes of regulation plus the first 10 minutes of overtime. The home team had a number of opportunities to finish the contest in the second overtime period but could not manage to put it away.

Leandro Faria had two saves for the Chargers.

Juan Zamora was the most dangerous player for Friends with four shots.

Briar Cliff will take another road trip this week. The team travels to Waldorf Tuesday for a contest in Forest City, Iowa.
