The Charger baseball team earned a split of today's doubleheader against Concordia with the Cliff winning game one 8-0 and falling in game two 8-3.

Jacob Wesselmann took the mound for the Cliff in game one, tossing a two-hit shutout while striking out nine batters. Wesselmann improves to 5-0 on the year and has thrown five complete games.

Darnell Prince put the Chargers on the board first, scoring
Connor Lange with a single to left field in the top of the third. With the bases loaded and two outs,
Harrison Jestel singled to right driving in two Chargers. Â

BC added four runs in the top of the fifth, with
Jake Allen crushing a grand slam over the center field fence. Concordia's leadoff batter reached base on a hit by pitch to start the sixth inning, but Wesselmann struck out the next three batters, stranding the runner on first. Allen drove in another run in the seventh, scoring
Jake Federico with a single to right.

Allen went 2-for-4 with five RBIs and one run. Prince scored two runs and tallied one RBI. Federico recorded a hit, a walk, and two runs.

"Jake was unbelievable as he has been all year today and we put together some good at bats in game one," said head coach
Corby McGlauflin. "We made a few mistakes in game two and a good team like Concordia will make you pay as they did."

Concordia scored one run in the second and two in the third to take the early lead in game two. In the sixth inning,
Jared Sitzmann singled to center and advanced to second on a stolen base. Prince drove in Sitzmann on the next at-bat with a double to the right field fence. The Bulldogs pulled away in the bottom half of the inning, scoring five runs to go up 8-1.

Dalen Blair takes the loss for the Cliff, going 4.2 innings allowing three runs and striking out four.
Alex Kremer provided two solid innings out of the bullpen, with two strikeouts and zero hits. Sitzmann tallied two hits and one run.

BC moves to 23-10 on the season and are 7-7 in conference play. The Chargers will travel to Seward, Nebraska Sunday for a doubleheader against the Bulldogs.
