Ben Peters dominated his individual matchup Thursday night as the Chargers downed Dakota Wesleyan 26-16 in the Newman Flanagan Center. Briar Cliff improves their dual record to 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in GPAC duals.

Peters is ranked #14 in the latest NAIA ratings and is BC's all-time leader in tech falls. Peters won by an 18-0 tech fall in the first period of his 149-lb matchup against Tommy Klemesrud. Jon Garcia went three periods against Hunter Planansky and won by a 2-1 decision.Â

CaRon Watson who is the second ranked wrestler at 125-lb in the GPAC, wrestled up a weight class to face the fifth ranked 133-pounder in Darien Malone. Malone took the matchup 14-4 over Watson. Unranked
Garrett Arment dropped lost by a 7-5 decision against Kaleb Bigelow (#6 GPAC) at 165-lbs.
Jake Leicht (#5 GPAC) was upset by Cole Halouska by a 6-2 decision at 174-lbs.

The Tigers were open in three weight classes at 125 184 and 285-lbs as the Cliff took a 26-16 win.

Charger wrestling will have an extended break, before returning to the mat at the Under Armour Invite in Pella, Iowa on January 8th. The Chargers next GPAC dual is on January 12th against Northwestern.
