Briar Cliff wrestling competed in the Luther Hill Invite Saturday in Indianola, Iowa.
CaRon Watson was the best placer for the Cliff with a first place finish at 125-pounds.

Watson received a first round bye and won by major decision (9-0) over Upper Iowa's Dakota Henry in the quarterfinals. He then earned a 15-0 tech fall over Brandon Foster of Buena Vista, before taking a 7-6 decision over Simpson's Dylan McChesney in the title match.

Ashton Brecht placed second in the 285-pound division, falling to Upper Iowa's Jordan Baumler by a 6-4 decision in the title match. Brecht won by fall in his first two rounds over Graceland's Treviante Thomas (0:53) and NIACC's Jacob Leohr (2:22). In his semifinal match he took a 4-0 decision over Troy Monahan of NIACC.

Ben Peters (149),
Jeremiah Glise (184) and
Connor Mahoney (197) all took third place finishes in their respective weight classes.
Ben Peters went 5-1 on the day and won by a 8-3 decision of Ryan Ojeda of Grand View to take third. Glise finished 1-1 and won by a 12-3 major decision over
Jake Leicht. Mahoney also went 1-1 with a 12-8 decision over Grand Veiw's Andrew Hamilton.

Chris Paulsen and Leicht had fourth place finishes at 174 and 184, respectively.
Gabriel Howard placed fourth at 133 and
Caleb Shanks won his fifth place match at 197.

Briar Cliff will be in the Newman Flanagan Center Friday, November 12 for their first GPAC dual as they host Jamestown. The first match between the Jimmies and Chargers is set for 4 p.m.
